Before the kettle

I sort notes by mood rather than calendar month. Before the kettle: errands and half-thoughts. While the window is open: the pieces I meant to keep. After the plates are cleared: walks and corridor conversations. When the flat goes quiet: the heavier pages that waited for stillness.

There is no search box and no tag cloud. Only titles I still recognise when I read them aloud to an empty kitchen.

Some entries will age badly. That is acceptable. A personal blog should show its seams.

The archive sections mirror moods more than months — a note written in October can feel like “before the kettle” if the week was rushed.

I do not delete entries when I change my mind; I add a correction email instead and leave the original sentence standing.

Titles that sound dramatic usually came from nights with bad sleep. I keep them to remember the tone, not to perform it again.
